In today's ever-changing technological environment, the home entertainment system is one which has become a feature in itself. No longer pieces to be tucked away out of site, today's gadgetry is made to be displayed. This entertainment unit was custom-made to the client's specifications to suit an existing home entertainment system. The drawers are purpose built to house CD and DVD collections, while the centre shelving can be adjusted to suit changing needs.

In keeping with the client's need for a furniture piece which was attractive, functional and structurally sound, this piece was made using traditional dovetail and mortice & tennon joints. Clean lines created the desired look for this piece. Integrated finger pull handles to the bottom of the drawer faces gives hidden, functional access. Slight shaping to the feet of the legs add interest in keeping with the overall look.

This furniture piece is constructed from solid timber - Tasmanian Blackwood - using hand-selected pieces to maintain a colour consistency. The timber is finished using Danish Oil to richly enhance the timber's patina.

The Danish Oil finish to this piece of furniture enhances the natural beauty of the Blackwood.
